Take
Inventory & Get The Right Equipment
The first thing you should do is get your
bearings. How much furniture you have, how long each piece will take to
disassemble, and what you can do before the move. While you won’t be able to
take apart your bed until moving day, you can disassemble end tables and desks.
Once you’ve figured out an action plan, gather all of the materials you will
need to take apart furniture. Use sandwich bags to hold small parts and label
them accordingly. Wrap furniture in blankets and packing tape or bubble wrap to
make sure nothing gets broken.
Measure
Take careful measurements
of hallways and doorways so you can determine if every piece of furniture will
fit through them. The last thing you want is to get your couch wedged in a
staircase with no way to get around it. You may need to remove doors to move
certain items if they can’t be taken apart.
Disassemble
& Pack
My friend mentioned to me your blog, so I thought I’d read it for myself. Very interesting insights, will be back for more!
